- How much does bookkeeping cost?
- Most small service businesses pay around $400 a month, and our pricing usually runs from $200 to $800 depending on how many accounts and transactions you have. One-person businesses are usually on the lower end. We give you a clear quote after a quick conversation, before anything starts. There is a full breakdown on the pricing page.
- What's included each month?
- We categorize every transaction, reconcile your bank and credit card accounts, and keep your records organized and current. You end each month with clean books and a clear picture of your money.
- Do I have to be local to work with you?
- No. We're based in Carmel, Indiana and love working with businesses here and around Indianapolis, but everything runs through QuickBooks Online. We work with owners around the country the same way. Nothing needs to happen in person.
- I'm months or years behind. Can you still help?
- Yes, this is common and we're not going to judge you for it. We do catch-up work to get everything cleaned up and current, then start regular monthly bookkeeping from a clean slate. Catch-up is usually a one-time fee on top of the monthly price.
- Do you do my taxes?
- We keep your books, not your taxes. But clean, reconciled books make tax time far easier and cheaper. We hand your CPA numbers they can actually use, and if you don't have a CPA, we can point you to a good one.
- Do you handle my 1099s?
- Yes. We track what you pay each contractor through the year so 1099 season isn't a fire drill. We also built a free tool, createw9.com, your contractors can use to fill out a W-9 and send it to you. There's a full walkthrough on our how to file 1099s guide.
- What software do you use?
- QuickBooks Online. If you're already on it, we connect to what you have. If you're not, we'll get you set up as part of onboarding.
- Is my financial information secure?
- Yes. We connect to your accounts through secure, read-only bank feeds inside QuickBooks. We never move your money or need your login sitting in an email.
- Am I locked into a contract?
- No. Everything is month-to-month. If it's not working, you can walk away. We'd rather earn your business every month than trap you in a contract.
- What if I already have a bookkeeper?
- That's fine. A lot of people come to us because their current setup fell behind, went quiet, or never really understood their business. We can review where things stand and take it from there with no drama.
- How do we get started?
- Call, text, or fill out the form and we talk for about 15 minutes. If we're a good fit, we connect to your accounts and QuickBooks, which takes about 15 minutes to set up. From there we handle the books each month. We can usually have you going within a week.
