How much does bookkeeping cost?

Most quotes land between $300 and $400 a month, and the full range is $200 to $600 depending on how many accounts and transactions you have. One-person businesses are usually on the lower end. We give you a clear quote after a quick conversation, before anything starts. There is a full breakdown on the pricing page.

What's included each month?

We categorize every transaction, reconcile your bank and credit card accounts, and keep your records organized and current. You end each month with clean books and a clear picture of your money.

Can't I just do my own books?

You can. Most owners are capable of it, and the work isn't complicated. The trouble is it's one more thing to worry about, and it's usually the first thing to slide when work gets busy. Then it's a pile of receipts in March. If your hours are better spent on jobs and customers, the work that grows the business, that's when it makes sense to hand the books off.

Do I have to be local to work with you?

No. We're based in Carmel, Indiana, but everything runs through QuickBooks Online, so the books work the same whether you're around the corner or across the country. Nothing needs to happen in person.

I'm months or years behind. Can you still help?

Yes, this is common and we're not going to judge you for it. We do catch-up work to get everything cleaned up and current, then start regular monthly bookkeeping from a clean slate. Catch-up is usually a one-time fee on top of the monthly price.

Do you do my taxes?

We keep the books and leave the filing to your CPA. By the time they need anything, the whole year is categorized and reconciled, so they're not chasing you for receipts and answers all March. Filing gets faster and cheaper. Don't have a CPA? We can point you to a good one.

Do you track 1099 payments?

What software do you use?

QuickBooks Online. Jackson is a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. If you're already on QuickBooks, we connect to what you have. If you're not, we'll get you set up as part of onboarding. More on the QuickBooks bookkeeping page.

Is my financial information secure?

Yes. We connect to your accounts through secure, read-only bank feeds inside QuickBooks. We never move your money or need your login sitting in an email.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Everything is month-to-month. If it's not working, you can walk away. We'd rather earn your business every month than trap you in a contract.

What if I already have a bookkeeper?

That's fine. People switch when their current setup falls behind, goes quiet, or never understood the business. We can review where things stand and take it from there with no drama.

How do we get started?

Call, text, or fill out the form and we talk for about 15 minutes. If we're a good fit, we connect to your accounts and QuickBooks, which takes about 15 minutes to set up. From there we handle the books each month. We can usually have you going within a week.
